Open on the outside of an early cinema in Victorian London. The Paternoster Mobile is outside. Cut to Hordriss and the gang entering the screening room. There is nothing on the screen. The audience and band have clearly all killed themselves. Vastra “In the name of the Myrka...” Hordriss walks briskly to the front of the room to take in the whole scene. Open in orbit of an alien world. The atmosphere is a soup of dark clouds and lightning storms. The space around the planet is dotted with the hulks of wrecked spacecraft. Cut to a view of a ruined castle atop a hill. It is night but frequent lightning lights the area. The lightning reveals masses of mangled droids and skeletons in decaying armour. Cut to a slow montage of various abandoned chambers in the castle. Cut to a view from above a courtyard where a man is pacing. Cut into the courtyard where we can see the pacing man is Mortimus. Mortimus “Come on, come on...” Mortimus turns to suddenly see Hordriss stood right behind him. Mortimus jumps. Mortimus “Pandak's balls! Open on a montage of steam engines being built. Cut to the gang stood looking at something behind the camera. Open on the London skyline. Cut to a sign on a wall which reads Comercia Alley. Cut to the busy alley as various aliens bustle in and out of small, colourful shops and haggle at stalls. We see Hordriss at one such stall run by an old Vinvocci with a long green/grey beard. Cut to a view of many coloured crystals of different shapes and sizes on his stall. Hordriss picks up a crystal resembling a quartz point. Cardinal Hordriss “Is this Metebelin Quartz?”. Vinvocci “Absolutely genuine. Focuses neuro electric energy. Very rare.
