The people who made it are no-longer in business.

I have another slightly different one made by RussReps though.

Not a clue, but some of the proper metal replicas were quite expensive.

Why not sonic pen? That's what the Doctor calls it...

Because the second part describes its function. or should - like sonic blaster, a blaster that works using sonic waves. Same with the lipstick, it's a probe, not a thing that applies lipstick using sonic waves and so should not be called a sonic lipstick.

I didn't think it described its function, I thought it described what it looked most like e.g. Sonic lipstick looks most like a stick of lipstick, the sonic blaster looks most like a gun of some sort, etc.
If it described the function, then the Doctor would only be able to undo screws with his sonic screwdriver, same with the Master's laser screwdriver. We'd be watching a Time Lord going around fixing screws to save the day.

All you need now is the sonic lipstick, probe, & cane to add to your colection :)

I don't know why the lipstick isn't in this pic because I do have it. The probe is elsewhere in my gallery. The cane is OK but I'm in no hurry to make one.

Which is your favorite?
I might purchase one from Amazon or Ebay. I'm partial towards the Laser Screwdriver but I'm not sure if its worth it...

Interesting... I like my new Romana sonic (RussReps - not pictured here), I've always liked the classic Pertwee/Baker version... My McGann Sonic is very good (also RussReps and not pictured here) it's based on the classic model and is collapsible... the current one rocks, shame the toy isn't more accurate, its predecessor, used by Eccleston and Tennant was somewhat dull... I also like the River Song future sonic... I'm not sure which is my favourite but it is definitely one of those.

I was lucky with the Russrep, I wasn't in on the run but he had it on his stall at the NEC so I snapped it up.

The original prop of the Master's TCE is on eBay at the moment, I'm sure they'll make a toy of it soon.

The Romana screwdriver was made by Timelord's pocket, I'm affraid they are no longer in production, try russreps.

Does yours extend, light up, and make sounds?
Reply
:iconhordriss:

it extends but makes no sound and does not light up, which made it considerably cheaper than the MFX or Celestial Toystore versions while being just as accurate.

Here is a list of the different variations of the 10 th sonic, quoted from the celestial toystore:

Here then, is the definitive list of sonic screwdriver variations used by Tennant and Eccleston including any defining features:
Eccleston Hero Prop 1 - Wide slider channel, bare tactile switch for slider. Very fragile resin and aluminium build.. Built by Penny Howarth and is distinguished by a 0.25mm step just below the struts.
Eccleston Aztec 1 - Built by Aztec, this had a fixed 'blobby' button with inset tactile switch but could extend and retract into the body yet had no slider channel. This was often seen fully closed and is often thought of as a closed static prop. It wasn't.
Eccleston Aztec 2 - This was an Aztec sonic fixed into the half closed position and featured a sharper, more geometric trapezoidal button mount than the Aztec 1.
Tennant Hero Prop - Debuted in Season 2: New build. The same as the Eccleston Static Prop except featured a narrow slider channel - Virtually identical to my CT Season 1-2 replica.
Tennant Intermediate (Hero and Semi Static) - Eccleston sonic body and color, slider plate introduced. extended black tactile switch button sunken into inner body, yellow wires. The yellow wires were obscured as eventually the perspex clouded up giving the impression of a solid rod. Most probably a refit of the Tennant Season 2 prop but using the Aztec made head.
Tennant Final Version - New build by Nick Robatto. Debuted in Season 4. Modified ridges. Extended tactile switch replaced with a leaf spring contact switch painted to match the colour of the body. Also seen in Eleventh Hour.

I see, it was last seen in the eleventh hour, but when The eleventh doctors broken sonic regenerated it became his sonic and referred to as the eleventh sonic, even though at that start of his regeneration he used the denth doctors sonic.

What Is the sonic in between river songs and romana?

You mentioned Russ Rep 11th die cast, but it looks like a 10th sonic , not 11th?

:iconhordriss:

You can tell it's 11th because of the flat slider/button ;)

I see the flat slider, but unless were not referring to the same sonic, it's a 10th sonic David tennant.

You say Russ made that for you?

He has made me many of the classic sonics, I'll have to ask if he can still make those.
